Ball x Pit

After completing Final Fantasy XV (and all of its DLC), Final Fantasy VII Remake Integrade, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, obtaining the Platinum Trophy in all three games, and putting a combine total of roughly 4oo hours in three massive JRPGS, I needed a serious palette cleanser and BallxPit fit the bill perfectly.

BallxPit is honestly hard to describe. Part pinball and part rougelite with a dash of town building and management for good measure, the game certainly doesn't fit nicely into any preconceived genres. That obviously isn't a bad thing, and truly speaks to the novelty and creativity on display here, but it just makes it a tad more difficult to write about.  Regardless, if you are on the fence of whether to venture down into the pit, I can only recommend you give it a chance and find out for yourself what makes the game unique and so incredibly addicting to play. You'll quickly learn just how broken some ball combos are, how the fusion of certain balls makes no sense (why does the Egg Sack Ball and the Stone Ball fuse into the Shotgun Ball?), and how some passives genuinely make things a cakewalk.  While BallxPit overall isn't a perfect game, and getting the Platinum Trophy was a bit of a grind, it is an experience well worth the low price of admission.
